Nova Caravans say, “When it comes to freedom, follow your heart!” The Nova Bravo Signature Series 206-1R will likely steal your heart away at first glimpse, and keep you feeling warm and fuzzy while you comfortably explore our great land. It may well be the answer to your luxury caravan purchase puzzle! This is a terrific van designed for a touring couple to find that dream campsite, whether at the end of a remote road, or perhaps even in the social convenience of a fully equipped holiday park – maybe both, depending on your mood.

Nova Caravans have built an envious reputation for innovation and quality since 2006. Their purpose-built facility in Campbellfield, Vic, is fully Australian-owned and operated. They have maintained their reputation by leading with new methods, materials, technologies, and mindful developments to minimise their environmental impact. The Bravo Signature Series 206-1R is an absolute ripper. The Signature series takes all of the features of the Bravo range and adds $5,000 worth of extras as standard, so you don’t have to concern yourself with adding options to find the perfect caravan for your next adventure, and the one after that, and the one after that…

She’s a 20’6” tandem touring caravan built tough for the long hauls, but has a sweet side with its aesthetics and comfort. It has a terrific array of accessories and features, all presented in a light, inviting, and very chic display of craftsmanship that will quickly become your favourite home away from home. Numerous models in the Bravo Signature Series range come standard with a shower and toilet and have been designed with functionality in mind without compromise.

There’s certainly no mistaking that exclusive Nova design, look, and feel. It’s hard to make a box on wheels distinctive, but Nova has achieved it by incorporating a strong 6” chassis and drawbar foundation with the unique Nova Pro-Al sandwich panel walls that offer ultimate strength. They added a single-section fibreglass roof to ensure long-term protection from water ingress, with the entire shell providing maximised insulation qualities.

Classy Demeanour

Its external demeanour oozes distinctive class with the smooth-sided Pro-Al panelling, demure grey and white colour scheme accentuated with attractive decals, black Euro-style double-glazed windows, premium security door, black hatches and picnic table, gunmetal checker plate protection all around (high in the front), and sporty 16” mag wheels to match the design flair.

There are twin 9kg gas bottles and a mesh insert in the drawbar, a full-length pull-out awning, a gas bayonet, power and aerial sockets, a lockable tunnel boot with an illuminated entry handle, a bumper bar with a spare wheel at the rear, as well as a great array of LED trailer and mood lighting. Underneath, we find plenty of potable water storage with twin 95 litre shrouded poly tanks, and you’ll be welcomed into environmentally sensitive areas with the 90 litre grey water holding tank.

Overhead is a wind-up aerial for the 24” Smart TV, and the standard 160-watt solar panel has been upgraded to two 170-watt units feeding two 105 Amp AGM batteries through a regulator, so you’ll be good for some free camping with plenty of power and water. There’s tonnes of ventilation through the large insulated windows which have blinds and awnings plus overhead hatches including the shower. You just can’t travel without the comfort of a low-profile reverse-cycle air conditioner, and Nova has included an external shower in the Signature Series packaging for 2021.

Towing the Bravo

Towing is made easy with the comforting assistance of the tandem rocker leaf spring suspension teamed with AL-KO ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and a reversing camera to make manoeuvring safe and easy. She has a tare of 2410kg and ATM of 3010kg, with a ball weight of 159kg, allowing a very satisfying and realistic 600kg payload.

Comfort, Class and Style

Step inside and you will immediately be impressed with the handsome display that beckons you to relax. The stylish interior offers high gloss furniture, a full ensuite, a big club lounge, a comprehensive kitchen and a queen-size bed with plenty of storage. You will also find all of the modern conveniences that we’ve come to expect, including a CD stereo with Bluetooth (internal and external speakers), RV WiFi, a top load washing machine, twin Sirocco fans, a DC to DC charger with Projector BMS, a gas/electric hot water system and a terrific array of power points and mood lighting.

I personally liked the colour palette, as it's light and refreshing but also soft and soothing, with very easily cleaned surfaces. Up in front, the Queen bed has a thickly padded upholstered bedhead, a pair of storage nooks for books and nighttime knick-knacks, and a great variety of cabinetry, including wardrobes and drawers.

 

The bed area flows easily into the mid-mounted kitchen, with the café lounge opposite. The upholstery is really very swish and ultimately comfortable, with a fully adjustable table that swings in its position to accommodate my big tummy or the littleuns alike.

The kitchen has a good amount of storage in the cabinetry, including large overheads with concealed catches and gas struts and steel-framed drawers, but it’s the almost full-height slide-out pantry that gives so much easy access to all the non-perishable foodstuffs. There’s a good amount of bench space on marble laminate with a stainless steel sink with mixer and filtered water. Our demonstrator unit had a 3-burner & one electric element stove with grill; however, the 2021 model also features an oven as standard. The kitchen is completed with a large 184 litre Thetford fridge/freezer with a microwave overhead for the popcorn!

Wrap It Up

The Bravo Signature Series 206-1R is a true testament to modern CAD design. It not only supplies terrific internal flow but also has high headroom, emphasising liveability. The full ensuite with a separate one-piece fibreglass shower, toilet, vanity with a large well-lit mirror, raised ceramic bowl, washing machine, and linen cupboard all expand the terrific appeal.

Nova says, “The Nova Bravo Signature Series is a fully equipped modern caravan that puts other caravans in the shade.” So maybe it’s time you saw the light with a beautiful Nova – it will be your best friend on the road!
