Ezytrail Winton 18 Review
I hope you’re ready for a big surprise because the Ezytrail Winton 18 is going to rock your RV world! Ezytrail says that their latest caravan is “Designed for style, bred for adventure”, and I must agree. She’s a terrific-sized touring caravan for a couple that enjoys the finer things in life and wants to take it on the road.
The Winton 18 is a handy-sized van that is easily towed by larger family vehicles. You will be amazed at what the designers have achieved, fitting in a huge King-sized bed with a premium multi-density mattress, a functional kitchen, an attractive ensuite and a pretty massive club lounge with thickly upholstered leatherette seating, all in a compact 18’ body shell that still feels quite spacious and certainly luxurious.
Weights & Measures - Ezytrail Caravans Winton 18

The weights and measurement specifications are very pleasing. The external dimensions are 7150mm L x 2275mm W x 3050mm H, and a very manageable tare weight of only 2100kg. The standard ATM as displayed is 2500kg with a 240kg ball weight, and upgrades are available as options. The construction utilises a C-Channel F3-rated chassis and drawbar, providing total confidence with a lifetime structural warranty. The body shell is created from lightweight aluminium insulated sandwich on the roof and walls, plus a single-section “HolyPan” honeycomb floor, keeping towing weight well within the realm of commuter vehicles, but still very strong and attractive.
She rides the highways comfortably and predictably on a 7-leaf roller rocker suspension with added shock absorption on each wheel, combined with attractive 15” alloy wheels, highway terrain tyres, and 10” electric brakes.
Futuristic Aesthetics

Ezytrail’s innovative designers have achieved futuristic aesthetic success that eliminates that “box on wheels” effect. The body lines are emphasised by the fully moulded nose cone with its voluptuous boot storage, plus an aerodynamically efficient, rounded front that combines with the array of black-rimmed, double-laminated polycarbonate windows, a black picnic table, and hatches, plus some bright decals to great effect. What isn’t immediately evident from outside is the curved polycarbonate “Moon Roof”, but more on that later!
Other external features include a full-length pull-out awning, strong Aussie Traveller security door, illuminated entry handle, a drawbar-mounted 9kg gas bottle, plenty of storage from the side boots and a full-width rear tunnel boot. There’s a pair of external speakers and LED lighting to set the mood, and she’s got a bootyful rear end with more attractive moulded panels that run tastefully up the sides as wheel arch spats. Of course, there are all the essential electrical plugs, lockable water tank fillers, mains water inlet and service access.
Ezytrail Professional Construction

It really is worth crawling underneath to inspect the very professional construction. There are twin 80-litre poly water tanks tucked neatly out of harm’s way, plus a terrific display of plumbing and electrical circuitry neatly routed within that strong galvanised chassis. Overhead features a Dometic reverse cycle air conditioner, internal skylight, and vents, with numerous solar options available.
Ezy Internal Delights

However, it’s when you step up through the doorway that the Ezytrail Winton 18 reveals her internal delights! First and foremost is the beautiful presentation and colour palette, featuring premium cabinetry, plush upholstery, pleasurable textures, and a fantastic array of mood lighting for every circumstance.
But then you realise the complexity of the internal design that has allowed so much living space, combined with a plethora of smart fit-out and accessories. Imagine an 18’ caravan with a full club lounge, king-size bed, full kitchen and ensuite that is still an inviting entertainer!

The large club lounge is immediately to the left as you enter, with that glorious 1000 x 600mm Moon Roof above, creating a warm and relaxed ambience. I love having the pleated blind pulled open to reveal the sunshine, or perhaps the starlight to set the mood. The table can collapse to form a further double berth should you be travelling with friends and family, but come time for entertaining or dining, the lounge excels.
Some will like it, and others won’t, but take a moment to consider the advantages of the mid-mounted ensuite. Personally, I loved it mainly as it allows the kitchen opposite, and that huge king-sized north-south bed at the rear.

The ensuite isn’t huge, but it’s quite adequate, featuring a shower, vanity with a backlit mirror, and toilet, and all set in a fully moulded fibreglass shell with clean white gelcoat surfaces. Again, the kitchen isn’t quite the gourmet chef's ideal, but it is still fully equipped, albeit with a slight lack of bench space, oven, and pantry. It features a 4-burner gas cooktop with grill, a range hood, a stainless steel sink with a hot/cold mixer, a 152L upright compressor fridge/freezer, and cabinets with three drawers, along with an array of overhead cabinets throughout.

Did I mention the King bed? Being a big bloke, I love it! I certainly recognise that it will be more difficult to make the bed and getting in and out a bit more awkward, but for me, a good night's sleep is priceless! There is more drawer storage under the bed and surrounded by overhead cabinetry, but no wardrobes.
There’s a terrific array of internal lighting options with personal reading lights, recessed strips and overhead downlights, plus plenty of natural light when you want it. For entertainment, the Winton 18 comes complete with a 24” HDTV and a humping sound system incorporating multifunction playback & Bluetooth with both internal and external speakers. There’s 12V and 240V power throughout, 2 x 100Ah deep-cycle batteries, an Anderson plug with a 50A circuit breaker, and a Projecta PM300 battery management system featuring an array of 240V, 12V, and dual USB sockets.

The Wrap
Overall, the Winton 18 is a significant milestone in Ezytrail’s evolution into caravan manufacturing. You will love the added appeal of the combination of timber veneer, faux timber vinyl flooring, light laminates, and bench tops, all complemented by brushed chrome and stainless fixtures, cross-stitched wall padding, and tempting leatherette. Together with the lighting, these elements provide total comfort and amenity.
Ezytrail says, “The Winton 18 is the perfect full-sized, touring van, designed for adventurers who want to travel in style and luxury around the Australian country.” I say hook me up and let’s go!
