Towing Made Easy

I tested the Concept Innovation 640A on a blustery Victorian winter day, towing it behind my trusty old Disco. Despite the 35-knot crosswinds, the 640A tracked straight and true, thanks to its rocker leaf suspension and optional AL-KO ESC Electronic Stability Control.

As we wound our way over the mountains to a picturesque free campsite on the Goulburn River, I was impressed by the van's stability and ease of setup. The corner stabilisers, Dometic awning, and Crimesafe security door all worked smoothly, making settling in for the night easy.

Underneath the van, I was pleased to see a sturdy chassis with fully welded galvanised RHS and larger all-terrain tyres. The dual 95-litre and optional grey water tanks were well-protected and positioned for good load distribution. The Ibis Mk 3 Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning and Winegard HV TV Antenna ensured we'd be comfortable and entertained. At the same time, the 150-watt solar panel and digital regulator provided a reliable power source.

The side panels were well-designed, with plenty of hatches, vents, and storage containers. Overall, the Concept Innovation 640A proved to be a capable and comfortable caravan, even in challenging conditions. Its ease of setup and stability made it a joy to use, and its features and design made it an excellent choice for any adventure.

Apartment Vibes Inside the Van

Stepping into the Concept Innovation 640A's interior is like entering a modern apartment. The clean-look design features gloss white walls and ceiling, marble laminate benchtops, and light grey cabinetry, creating a sense of airiness and sophistication. I liked some of the small items that stem from experience, like the wall-mounted pouch just inside the doorway with its hangers for hats, coats, keys and pockets for spotlights and essential knick-knacks. The interior's attention to detail is impressive, from the Mobicool double-glazed windows to the array of lighting options, including individual reading lights, overhead touch lighting with dimmers, and directional LEDs.

Storage and cabinetry are abundant, with cleverly designed spaces for everything from clothes to kitchen utensils. The kitchen is practical and well-equipped, with a stainless sink, Dometic refrigerator, remote control microwave, and Swift 3-burner gas stove. The ensuite is a standout feature, boasting a fully enclosed shower, full flush cartridge toilet, and deluxe vanity with touch-sensitive lighting. The interior's design and features cater to the needs of discerning travellers, with a focus on comfort, practicality, and style. From the Extenda Seating with pullout footrests to the top-loading washing machine, every detail has been considered to make life on the road as enjoyable as possible.

The Concept Innovation 640A is packed with an impressive array of features that cater to every aspect of life on the road. The power system is robust, with a 100-amp AGM deep-cycle battery, solar charging, and a 35-amp BM Pro Charging system with a level monitoring panel.

The top-notch entertainment system features a 22” LED television with DVD/CD/radio and Fusion marine speakers. There's also a wide range of 240V/12V/USB outlets throughout the van, ensuring you stay powered up on the go. Other notable features include a Truma Ultra Rapid hot water system, fire extinguisher, auto-positioning satellite system, and Hella 12-volt oscillating fans. The Waeco reverse camera and external shower tap set are also valuable additions.
