BRS Offroad Pursuit Platinum
"Innovation" is the one big thing that I truly love about the Australian camper trailer market. Yes, it seems that every good idea and design gets copied quickly, but thankfully, that leads smart innovators to drive harder in product development. These Australian innovators, such as BRS, deserve congratulations and support, not imitation. They are true leaders in the serious off-road camper trailer market with a bright future both at home and abroad. The Pursuit Platinum is a prime example, packed with features that'll make you the envy of every track and campsite.
BRS - Genuinely Innovative
This hybrid camper boasts some serious tech, including the Cell-Fi GO digital repeater, which boosts reception and provides entertainment options even in areas with low signal strength. And it's not just about staying connected – the Pursuit Platinum is built to handle the most challenging terrain, with advanced engineering and a robust suspension system.
The Cruisemaster XT 2.5 tonne, level 3 independent air suspension is a standout feature, providing confidence on and off the road. The airbags also make it easy to adjust the ride height and level the camper, allowing you to set up camp quickly and enjoy your destination - not argue over poles, fittings, appliances and awnings..
The well-experienced Mike and Anita Pavey from South Australia's "The Dirt" Off-Road Campers are clearly onto something as BRS Dealers with this Pursuit Platinum. Together, both the Paveys and the team at BRS Offroad are pushing the boundaries of what's possible in a camper trailer.

Weight is a key factor for both on and off-road travel, and hence a premium design and manufacturing hurdle for all campers. BRS have taken the bull by the horns by producing the Pursuit Platinum's weight with a tare mass of 1540kg, making it surprisingly light for a fully fitted hybrid. This, combined with its 2500kg ATM, means you've got plenty of payload capacity and can tow it with most late-model mid-range RVs.
The camper's chassis is a highlight, with a robust 150mm x 50mm x 3mm RHS A-frame structure that's fully hot-dipped galvanised and features engineered recovery points. The Cruisemaster DO35 V3 off-road coupling is a tried and proven premium component, and the rolled and gusseted chassis design inspires confidence. The Cruisemaster suspension, combined with 17" x 8 CSA alloy rims with BFG all-terrain tyres and 12" hubs with electric brakes, provides excellent ground clearance, and the water tanks (127L and 85L) are well-positioned and protected.

The camper body is a clever combination of two main components:
-
a CNC router-cut, 3mm marine-grade alloy lower section and floor
-
a single-moulded, hand-laminated composite fibreglass top cone.
The result is an exceptionally strong, lightweight, insulated and attractive shell, with 25mm closed-cell foam insulation and a high-tech Italian inner skin.

Game-Changer in the Aussie Camper Trailer Market
The BRS Pursuit Platinum is a game-changer in the Aussie camper trailer market, and it's clear why it's turning heads. With a tare mass of just 1,540 kg and an ATM of 2,500 kg, this hybrid camper is both lightweight and capable.
The chassis is a strong point, with a fully hot-dipped galvanised structure and engineered recovery points. The Cruisemaster DO35 V3 off-road coupling and suspension provide confidence on and off the road, while the BFG all-terrain tyres and 17" alloy rims ensure a smooth ride.
The camper body is a masterclass in design, with a strong, lightweight shell that's both tough and insulated. The interior is just as impressive, with easy access to the fridge, kitchen, and storage areas. The keyless remote door and electric Techno-Step make it a breeze to get inside, and the pop-out ensuite and awning are simple to set up.
Overall, the Pursuit Platinum is a camper that's designed for adventure, with a focus on ease of use and practicality. Whether you're a seasoned camper or just starting out, this camper is definitely worth considering.
Let's Start at the Beginning
The BRS Pursuit Platinum's design is certainly eye-catching and individual with its streamlined, futuristic look. In fact, it's somewhat reminiscent of a lunar module, with futuristic technology to match. But every time you think it reminds you of something else, it's like "nah, it's nothing like it!"
The black Raptor-coated aluminium base and white fibreglass gelcoat finish give it a sleek, high-tech appearance. In contrast, the sleek, raked entry provides terrific aerodynamics, reducing drag and fuel consumption. It stands quite high, in fact, higher than a standard Land Cruiser, but would be a similar height if the vehicle had a pack rack and a bit of gear. At 2100mm wide, it rides in the same wheel track as the towing vehicle. The overall height also adds to the generous internal headroom, making it an excellent option for taller campers.

The Pursuit Platinum's storage options are plentiful, featuring a large tub on the A-frame drawbar that houses twin 9kg gas bottles, a wet storage/firewood box, and swing-away wings with jerry can holders. There's even an external tap for convenient access.
The main module features full-width compartments for storing gear, such as tent poles, fishing rods, and tools. And when it comes to cooking, the Pursuit Platinum has you covered, with both indoor and outdoor options. The outdoor kitchen is particularly impressive, featuring a large moulded fibreglass module with a twin-burner gas stove, stainless steel barbecue, and sink with both hot and cold water.

The test camper was fitted with a 60L Engel fridge, but a Waeco CFX95L dual-zone fridge/freezer is also available. A swing-over bench provides additional space for storing cold drinks or loading the fridge.
Clever Camper Design
The Pursuit Platinum's ensuite is a clever design, popping out of the rear of the roadside with a slide forming the base and a gas-strutted fibreglass door tilting up to create the roof. The slide-in canvas inserts are easy to assemble, although a drop-down arrangement might be a helpful addition in future models.
Moving forward on the roadside, you'll find lockable water tank fillers, an Aussie Traveller window, external lighting, and a large side storage compartment that houses the portaloo and keeps electrical components secure and accessible. The electronic systems are impressive, with a 40A DC/DC charger/solar regulator paired with 320W monocrystalline solar panels on the roof.
The Pursuit Platinum also features a 1600W automatic transfer inverter/60A 240V charger, allowing you to run appliances like coffee machines and hair dryers. Power is supplied by a 200A Enerdrive Lithium battery or 240V, if you're connected to mains power or running a generator.
The standard package includes a 2.5m wide awning that glides into position on a sail track. Its internal and external LED lighting options suit every mood and situation, plus there are speakers for the Fusion interactive sound/DVD entertainment system, both inside and out. There are premium Aussie Traveller double-glazed and insulated windows on either side of the camper, allowing lighting, view and ventilation options, plus the overhead "star window" above the bed that I love.

At the rear, it is very clever, with the spare wheel mounted at a departure angle, forming almost a tough bumper stopper that prevents nearly all possibility of damage from a very steep rut. There is a solid bumper, a reversing camera, and LED trailer lighting, completing the very neat finish.
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of attempts at a good pop-out style ensuite, and BRS have just about hit the nail on the head. Theirs is located on the roadside rear and is formed by a tilt-up top that serves as the roof and a slide-out base below. The slide-in canvas inserts are reasonably easy to assemble, but I know that BRS Ben is working on some easier drop-down alternatives.

What's Inside?

The Pursuit Platinum's interior is a game-changer, with a high roof line that creates a spacious and airy feel. The kitchen is a standout feature, boasting a stunning Australian hardwood timber benchtop, a four-burner cooktop, and a full-size stainless steel sink. The cabinetry is sleek and modern, with plenty of storage and premium soft-close mechanisms.
The amenities don't stop there - the Pursuit Platinum also boasts a 22L Suburban gas hot water system, Shurflo filtration tap, and a hot/cold mixer tap. You'll also find a 900W microwave, 21" HD TV, Fusion DVD stereo, and 2400W gas ducted heater and air conditioner.
The ensuite is equally impressive, with plenty of room to move around and a grey water tank to ensure suitability for all camping adventures. The Queen-sized bed is a treat, with a skylight window overhead for stargazing and a block-out blind for sleeping in.
Storage is plentiful, with hatches, power sockets, and flat spaces adjacent to the bed, as well as large storage compartments under the front face of the bed. The convertible dinette is a great feature, and the 30L Waeco drawer fridges under each module are a thoughtful touch.
Other notable features include wireless lighting options, multiple 12V and 240V outlets, and a hardy 6-layer epoxy floor that's easy to keep clean.
Did I fail to mention the wonderful Queen bed with its "Sky Window" above? I just love it! Many have said that I have my head in the stars - and it's true! Such a wonderful cocoon to sleep in - so quiet, so comfortable, so relaxing! (and there's even handy storage compartments for all your nighttime knick-knacks to boot!)

The Wrap!
The BRS Offroad Pursuit Platinum hybrid camper is genuinely one of the most innovative, practical, and downright exciting camper trailers/hybrids that I have ever had the pleasure of testing. It blends a wonderful recipe for serious travel and off-road enthusiasts who understand the rugged demands of true Aussie adventure. Furthermore, it's a fantastic weekend escape machine that also provides all of the comforts and necessities for extended travel and remote camping. Plus, it's got some wonderful knick-knacks!
